My name is Pontip Sonthavong and I am a graphic and web designer located in Adelaide, South Australia. I am a graduate of the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Visual Communication.
I have worked on numerous projects from the simple stationery to complex websites ranging from such clients as Adelaide Festival, South Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Office of Consumer & Business Affairs as well as Limestone Coast, Food Adelaide, and wine expert Jeremy Oliver.
While I do enjoy high detail and complexity when it comes to design I am a firm believer of simplicity when it comes to effective design. Clear and concise ideas are the best way to properly convey a message.
My main background is graphic design and a lot of my work revolves around print, promotional, stationery, and signage. On top of that I also get involved with web and multimedia with the building of websites, flash and 3D animation along with development of interface layouts.
I am also a costumer in my spare time. I like to create costumes and props from my favourite movies, games and comics. I am a member of the Australian Costumers' Guild and often turn up to conventions and similar events in full gear. My speciality is costume armour at the moment. A gallery of that work is coming soon....
For years I have worn a long black leather trench coat during the cooler months. So much so it's become part of my visual identity (along with suits. I like suits). My very first trench coat was nicknamed 'Old Trenchy' and was stolen during a University fundraiser. Eventually, that nickname became attached to me.
